Ahlstrom to book impairment charge of EUR 22.4 million in its Q4 2009 financial results

Ahlstrom has completed its annual impairment testing according to IAS 36. The testing shows an impairment need of EUR 22.4 million in the Wipes cash generating unit.
 
As a result of the testing, Ahlstrom will book a non-cash impairment charge of EUR 22.4 million from the goodwill in the Home & Personal Nowovens Business Area in its fourth quarter 2009 financial results. The charge will have a corresponding negative effect on Ahlstrom's fourth quarter operating profit.
 
Ahlstrom publishes the financial results for 2009 on February 3, 2010.
