Após dificuldades iniciais, o Projeto Metering iniciou o ano com perspectivas bem positivas e ótima produtividade
O maior investimento da Ahlstrom-Munksjö no Brasil aconteceu entre agosto e setembro de 2019 em Jacareí. Com um investimento superior a R$ 100 milhões, 30 dias de parada e mais de 300 horas de treinamentos operacionais para os colaboradores, o Projeto Metering permite maior capacidade de revestimento, menor limitação de formatos e desenvolvimento de novas soluções.
Os primeiros meses no último trimestre de 2019 apresentaram algumas dificuldades na instalação e automação dos novos equipamentos, que geraram um atraso inicial no desenvolvimento de novos produtos. A Ahlstrom-Munksjö trabalhou arduamente em colaboração com a Voith – principal fornecedor – para eliminar os problemas técnicos e ajustar o processo de revestimento, a ponto de, já em fevereiro de 2020, atingir resultados expressivos de produtividade na nova máquina. A estabilidade de produção neste mês nos proporcionou um recorde inédito na empresa de 5 dias sem quebras de papel na máquina.
De acordo com Luis Coelho, Gerente da Planta de Jacareí e responsável pelo projeto:
“A perspectiva é que [...] o nosso pessoal, pouco a pouco, domine cada vez mais os novos equipamentos para obtermos ganhos de performance. Muita coisa depende do ajuste operacional da máquina, então isso vem com o tempo, com o pessoal entendendo como o equipamento funciona melhor, fazendo esses ajustes finos. Então a perspectiva é essa curva de aprendizado dos operadores, para poder cada vez mais melhorar o set up.”
Além de garantir que nossos produtos sejam produzidos na máquina de papel com a melhor performance, qualidade e estabilidade, devemos avançar no desenvolvimento e homologação de novos produtos previstos no projeto e aguardados pela nossos parceiros estratégicos.
A virada de ano marcou a produção das primeiras amostras industriais de papéis couchê L1 das linhas MultiLabel e MultiLiner. A cada nova produção em 2020, é perceptível a melhoria e estabilidade do processo com produtos alinhados as necessidades e desejos de nossos clientes.
Seguindo essa curva de aprendizado e planejamento de projetos teremos meses bem desafiadores com muitos desenvolvimentos em máquina e homologação em nossos clientes. “Os desafios técnicos e de processo foram sobrepostos, agora devemos focar nossa atenção nos novos desenvolvimentos, que serão muitos em Jacareí em 2020 e que a partir de julho representarão volumes expressivos da unidade”, comenta Luis Coelho.

After initial difficulties, the Metering Project started the year with very positive perspectives and excellent productivity
Ahlstrom-Munksjö's largest investment in Brazil took place between August and September 2019 in Jacareí. With an investment of over BRL 100 million, 30 days of stoppage and more than 300 hours of operational training for employees, the Metering Project allows greater coating capacity, less format limitations and the development of new solutions.
The months in the last quarter of 2019 presented some difficulties in the installation and automation of new equipment, which generated an initial delay in the development of new products. Ahlstrom-Munksjö worked hard in collaboration with Voith - the main supplier - to eliminate technical issues and adjust the coating process, to the point where, in February 2020, it achieved expressive productivity results with the new machine. The production stability this month provided us with an unprecedented record in the company of 5 days without web breaks in the machine.
According to Luis Coelho, Jacareí Plant Manager and responsible for the project:
“The perspective is that [...] our people, little by little, will increasingly master the new equipment to obtain performance gains. A lot depends on the operational adjustment of the machine, so it takes time, with people understanding how the equipment works best, making these fine adjustments. So the perspective is this operator's learning curve, in order to increasingly improve the set up.”
In addition to ensuring that our products are made on the paper machine with the best performance, quality and stability, we must progress in the development and approval of new products planned in the project and awaited by our strategic partners.
The turn of the year marked the production of the first industrial samples of C1S paper from the MultiLabel and MultiLiner lines. With each new production in 2020, it is possible to note the improvement and stability of the process with products aligned to the needs and desires of our customers.
Following this learning curve and project planning, we will have very challenging months with many machine developments and approvals by our customers. “The technical and process challenges were overlapped, and now we must focus our attention on the new developments, which will be many in Jacareí in 2020, and which from July will represent expressive volumes of the unit”, comments Luis Coelho.
