Evaluation of Serum Transport Card for Vaccination Monitoring By Serology
Ahlstrom-IDVet Serum transport cards are designed as rapid, non-invasive, easy-to-use and cost-effective device to achieve high yield and purity of plasma/serum from whole blood. The fiber-based technology of the Serum transport card allows effective separation of whole blood and storage of plasma/serum at ambient temperature for subsequent use in biomarkers analysis. The minimum volume of blood required leads to a less invasive sampling and faster procedure for plasma separation compared to classical approach based on centrifugation.
The strip format for sample collection contributes to results reliability and is a sustainable, affordable, and simple alternative technique for the transport of blood, serum and plasma samples at ambient temperature (from 4 to 45°C).
This study was designed to evaluate the effect of collection of blood samples on serum transport cards for the downstream ELISA analyses for vaccination monitoring on broiler flocks with comparison to liquid sampling.
