AHLSTROM PURCHASES SPECIALTY FILTRATION BUSINESS ACTIVITIES FROM FIBERMARK INC, USA
Ahlstrom Corporation, a leader in high performance fiber-based materials, today announced the purchase of a part of FiberMark's specialty filtration business activities in North America. Total related revenues for this business are USD 5 million (EUR 5 million).
The purchase includes industrial and process filtration products, related customer list, patents and converting equipment. These products will be transferred to Ahlstrom's Mount Holly Springs, PA, plant. Mount Holly Springs plant is part of Ahlstrom's FiberComposites division and manufactures specialty filtration products for industrial, laboratory and process filtration applications.
Jukka Moisio, FiberComposites division president, commented "this purchase reinforces Ahlstrom's position as a leading US supplier of filtration media by adding complementary products to Ahlstrom's existing specialty filtration range".
In a bid to simplify their respective manufacturing processes, Ahlstrom and FiberMark also agreed to swap Ahlstrom's US vacuum bag filter media with FiberMark's nonwoven tablecloth business activities. Ahlstrom will work closely with FiberMark to ensure that a seamless transition is made.
